Setup guide

Use Back Tap to start your screenshot workflow.

Assign the NocGO shortcut to iPhone Back Tap. Check system requirements, follow the setup steps, and troubleshoot common screenshot issues.

NocGO · Updated

Back Tap is an iPhone feature that can run an assigned shortcut when you tap the back of your phone. NocGO uses that entry point to receive the screen you want to organize.

Install NocGO and its shortcut before setting up Back Tap.

Check the requirements

Apple documents Back Tap for iPhone 8 and later with iOS 14 or later. NocGO requires iOS 17 or later. Its shortcut system cards require iOS 26; older supported systems use the app-based flow.

Keep the phone unlocked when using the NocGO shortcut. You will need a network connection and permission for cloud recognition, then permission for the destination you choose. See Apple’s Back Tap instructions.

Assign the shortcut

  1. In NocGO’s setup flow, open the shortcut installation link and add the shortcut in Apple’s Shortcuts app.
  2. Open Settings → Accessibility → Touch → Back Tap on your iPhone.
  3. Choose Double Tap, then select the NocGO shortcut you just installed. Choosing the system “Screenshot” action alone captures an image but does not send it to NocGO.
  4. Return to NocGO and follow the entry test. Open a screen with sample content, keep the phone unlocked, and tap the back twice.
  5. Check that NocGO receives the intended screenshot before submitting it for recognition. Inspect the drafts and explicitly confirm any additions.

What happens after the double tap?

On supported systems, the shortcut presents system cards. Editing or reviewing a more detailed result can continue in NocGO. The app also lets you select the screenshot area and add a typed or transcribed request.

Read the screenshot-to-calendar guide for the fields to check.

If the shortcut does not work as expected

What you see What to check
Only a screenshot is taken Check that Double Tap points to the NocGO shortcut, rather than the system Screenshot action.
NocGO is missing from the shortcut choices Add the shortcut through the installed app, then return to Back Tap settings.
The gesture does not start the flow Unlock the phone and run the installed shortcut directly in Shortcuts to distinguish a gesture issue from a shortcut issue.
A banner covers part of the source Follow the installed app’s banner guidance, or select an existing screenshot in NocGO instead.
Recognition cannot start Check the network and cloud-recognition permission.
Saving needs permission Resolve calendar or reminder access, then review again before confirming.

If a previous save is uncertain, check the destination before repeating it. For persistent issues, contact support with the app version and error text, without private screenshots or access credentials.

Can you use NocGO without Back Tap?

Yes. The app can accept a selected screenshot, typed text, or voice transcription. Back Tap is optional. You can also compare the workflow with Siri and Apple’s screenshot tools.
